A noseband is bitless – this is a good thing so that your Icelandic horse does not injure its mouth. The halter fits correctly if it does not constrict the Icelandic horse and does not cause chafing. The length should be such that the noseband is about a finger’s width below the cheekbone. It should also not slip over the nostrils or lie on the free bridge of the nose, as your Icelandic horse is sensitive in these areas.
